Are Pageant Queens Perfect?

6/24/2025

Hey Queens-in-the-Making! I want to remind each of you of something so important: you don’t become the Queen when the crown is placed on your head—you become her through the process.

Every early morning workout, every practice walk in the hallway, every time you choose confidence over comparison—that's where the transformation happens. The growth, the sisterhood, the courage, the resilience... that is the real crowning moment. So keep showing up. Keep shining. Keep becoming. Your crown isn’t the destination—it’s the reflection of the woman you’ve already become and will continue to become.

10 Tips for Dealing with Post-Pageant Queen Reign Blues

6/23/2025

1. Let yourself feel it.
You just wrapped a huge chapter. It’s okay to mourn the end of an incredible experience. Cry if you need to — waterproof mascara not required this time.
2. Make a “Queen Year” scrapbook or reel.
Whether it’s digital or crafty with glitter and glue, celebrate your memories. Reign it in with a little nostalgia therapy.
3. Stay connected to your sister queens.
You may have given up your title, but you did not give up your tribe. Group chats, coffee dates, or memes about post-reign emotions? Yes, please.
4. Share your knowledge.
Mentor a future contestant, help backstage at a local competition, or judge an event. Pass the sparkle forward.
5. Set a new goal.
Whether it’s training for a 5K, starting a podcast, or organizing your closet (okay, maybe not that one), refocus your queen energy.
6. Update your bio and brand.
This is the perfect time to evolve your personal brand: “Former Titleholder, forever impact-maker.” Think of this as a rebrand, not a retirement.
7. Create space for what’s next.
You now have a few more evenings and weekends open. What have you been putting off? A hobby? Travel? A nap?
8. Keep serving — just in new ways.
Pageantry gave you a platform, but your mission isn’t over. Keep championing the causes you care about in your unique voice.
9. Celebrate who you’ve become.
You’re walking into your next chapter more polished, more poised, more powerful. That doesn’t disappear with the crown.
10. Rock your invisible crown.
You don’t need a rhinestone tiara to be royalty. That title lives in how you show up for others — and for yourself — every single day.

Pageant Tip: Save Your Feet

6/18/2025

Ladies of the upcoming pageants—this is your friendly reminder from a sister who’s been there: SAVE YOUR FEET!

You’ll be dazzling on stage in heels, but behind the scenes? Trust me, your future self will thank you for packing comfy shoes to wear around the hotel. Blisters are not a fashion statement. Whether it’s sparkly sneakers, cute slides, or your favorite bunny slippers (no judgment), just make sure they’re made for walking—not just looking pretty!

One Last Time....

He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Fifteen years ago, I stepped onto a pageant stage with a dream. There were times I doubted, moments I wondered if my name would ever be called and if I would ever have the honor of representing New York. But God’s timing is perfect, and this year has been nothing short of a celebration. It has been my greatest joy to wear "New York" across my heart, and my deepest prayer is that I have left it changed for good.

This journey has not been mine alone. To my husband, John- your love, unwavering support, and belief in me have been my foundation. Thank you for standing by my side through every high and low. I am forever grateful that I get to walk through this life with you at my side.

To my family and my dear friends- your encouragement has lifted me higher than I could have imagined. To our dedicated Pageant Director and dear friend, Diane Hardgrove, and her husband, Roy- thank you for your guidance, your belief in me, and for making this experience one to treasure forever.

To my Sister Queens, Candace, and Kathy- what an honor it has been to share this year and stage with you. To my incredible national roommate, Amanda N, Mrs. PA American- I couldn’t have asked for a better sister to experience Nationals with and to the entire Mrs. American Class of 2024, you are extraordinary.

To my pageant family, some of whom have walked this 15-year journey with me from the beginning and others who have become dear friends along the way- Allie C, Allison T, Allyson H, Bridget C, Bethany S, Christina C, Christina F, Melissa L, Nadine Z, Nicole P, Julie C, Karen W, Kate B, Kate S, Katie C, Katie F, Kelly B, Kerry B, Lorraine D, Amanda R-T and so many more - thank you for being my village.
To my glam team, Jessica L, Kelly W, and the whole team at Empower Skin & Scalp Spa- you made sure I stepped onto every stage feeling confident and radiant. But it is our 10 years of friendship that I cherish the most, thank you for always helping me to shine.

To my coach, Brooklyn, thank you for believing in this dream as much as me and helping me share my most authentic self with the world. I am forever Team Brooklyn. To Chloe and Becky, who helped to coach and guide me- thank you for bringing me across the finish line to Nationals.

To my incredible village of businesses that helped along the way- Bella Wax, Trendsetters Salon, Hot Yoga Syracuse, Debbie Carroll, Thimble Tailors, Live A Little Boutique & The Rev Theater- thank you for supporting me and my journey.

Finally, to my mother- Mom, I know you are looking down from heaven, and I pray I have made you proud. Thank you for instilling in me so much love, and for showing me what it means to live with empathy and light. Your Little Bird has flown high, and it’s all because of you.

As I pass this title to the next Mrs. New York American, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and faith. To the next women who will join this sisterhood: Embrace the journey, use your voice with purpose, and always wear your crown with gratitude- both the one on your head and the one in your heart.

With love and gratitude, Victoria Wejko Mrs. New York American 2024

Still floating from an unforgettable Hometown Royalty Night at Dwyer Stadium!

Throwing out the first pitch for the Batavia Muckdogs — in the very town where my story began — was an absolute home run for the heart. From the cheers in the stands to the smiles during the meet & greet, every moment was a reminder that no crown shines brighter than hometown pride.

Thank you, Batavia, for showing up and showing out — you’ll always be my MVP.
